    • No teachers or educators are to join this email list. This is a space for Education Technicians to engage with one another and receive support. Good Afternoon

There has been strong interest in the TAFE Skill set for School lab assistants. I have been collating the e-contact details of the many candidates who have contacted me by e-mail telephone and from referred colleagues of those interested. This contact hopefully reaches all but may include addresses of others who are coordinators, messengers, Head Teachers etc so I apologise if this message is not for you directly. Further I am not sure of the locations of many potential candidates. If anyone who is interested and I have missed them perhaps a colleague may let them or me know so that I can add them to my contacts.

My intention is to apply for funding for many separate course cohorts that will meet the needs of the wide geographic areas of interest. Each offering will be located on the premise that if ‘centrally’ located it will be most accessible to the majority of people across various regions both metropolitan and in country areas.

The model preferred is that a candidate from a school in the area may like to nominate their worksite/laboratories for the delivery venue according to days/dates that most suit the school (ie availability not conflicting with school classes).

This will be the model for the first course to be rolled out which will be over four days from 9:30 – 3:00pm on the 10th and 11th of April and then again on the 19th and 20th of April at St Aloysius College at Milsons Point, 47 Upper Pitt Street, Milsons Point 2061. It is a 5 minute walk from the railway station. When you arrive please sign in at reception and a pass and directions will be issued to you. This course offering is for a cohort that can readily access Milsons Point and will accommodate 15 students. If you live within the Sydney city area please use  the link below to enrol (the first 15 will fill up the group).

Do not be concerned if the dates and venue do not meet your needs or if the class fills before you enrol because I intend to also offer another course soon in Western Sydney, and later in Central West NSW. I have had interest from the Hunter and perhaps some other regions but not being sure of all locations that people have expressed interest from I will request that you respond with more details of locations so that I may more effectively coordinate delivery around the State. I intend to roll out this training across the State so a little patience as the months proceed and we should get to you.

Thanks for your support and interest and I hope that we can deliver training to support your role at work as the year proceeds.
